DREXEL HILL, PA, August 11, 2017-Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support (DBD) and Evercare Veterinary Crematory Services will commemorate National Pet Memorial Day on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Tinicum Park (Bucks County) beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Attendees of the no cost event will be able to participate in a remembrance ceremony, receive educational materials on pet loss and grief, and receive a FREE pet remembrance gift.  (Attendees are asked to bring a remembrance article of their beloved pet such as a photo, toy, collar, scrapbook, lock of hair, etc).

“The objectives of the commemoration are to honor the bond between pets and pet parents, educate people about the grief journey that occurs when a beloved pet is at end-of-life and after loss, and increase awareness of the many options available to memorialize pets who have passed away,” said Kathryn Jennings, President/Founder of Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support.

Like Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support and Evercare Veterinary Crematory Services, pet loss professionals all across the country will commemorate the day by holding events in their communities.  In honor of a beloved pet, pet parents are also encouraged to visit www.daybydaypetsupport.com to post free online memorial for cherished pets and view a list of additional ways to remember pets who have gone before us.

The commemoration day was originally created in 1972 by the International Association of Pet Cemeteries in commemoration of the importance of remembering beloved lost pets. The day is always celebrated on the second Sunday in September.

“It’s incredibly important for people to grieve whatever loss they may experience in their lives,” said Dr. John Marcus, Owner, Evercare Veterinary Crematory Services. “We truly want to assist them in expressing their love, mourning their grief and remembering these (pets) family members in a meaningful way.”
